Getting started

Understand ChauffeurDesk and prepare your website.

ChauffeurDesk is a self-hosted WordPress plugin for chauffeur businesses. It brings customer booking requests, fare estimates, fleet and driver administration, booking tracking, payment integrations and operational reporting into your WordPress website.

What you can manage

  1. Receive point-to-point transfer and hourly booking requests through a customer-facing form.
  2. Review requests, confirm or update bookings, and assign vehicles and drivers.
  3. Manage fleet records, driver accounts, fixed routes, maintenance and driver document expiry records.
  4. Offer customer booking lookup, journey status information and cancellation requests.
  5. Configure payment gateways, email notifications, business policies and tax calculations.
  6. Review financial reports, payment transactions and the administrative audit log.

Before you begin

The supplied plugin package identifies WordPress 6.2 or later and PHP 8.0 or later as its minimum requirements. Confirm that your hosting environment meets those requirements, that your website uses HTTPS, and that you have a recent backup of your WordPress files and database.

Recommended setup sequence

  1. Install and activate the plugin, then complete license activation.
  2. Add your business identity, base currency, pricing and customer policies.
  3. Add vehicles and driver accounts.
  4. Configure Google Maps and email delivery.
  5. Create the public booking, booking-tracking and driver-portal pages using the supplied shortcodes.
  6. Configure payment gateways in sandbox or test mode and submit test bookings before going live.
i

Keep your setup secure
Use HTTPS, restrict access to administrator and driver pages, keep payment and Maps credentials private, and test configuration changes before using them with live customers.
